2014/15 Hobby Season. ORKZ ROOL!

THE NEW SEASON HAS BEGUN!

It is time for a new season of hobby progress.  There are many things that I want to do and I am excited for what the new year will bring.  This list is my attempt to mark some progress and celebrate successes.  This list will change throughout the year.  There are ideas I haven't had and thoughts I haven't thought.  This list will have both projects that excite me and scare me.  Tasks that I want to do and task that I will be reluctant to do but that are necessary for other progress.  I encourage all of you who read this to embark on your own journey and wage war on unpainted plastic, make magnificent models and have a lot of fun with a great hobby.

Modeling Goalz

1. Finish Mad Mek Screwbitz - I started him a while back but my experiment with magnets has not gone well.  I need better magnets or more practice.  Moving to the paintshop!

 2.  Make 2  1 Weirdboyz - I have one Fantasy model but I need two one more scratch or purchase (Bought one!). DONE!

 3.  Complete 4 squads of Tankbustas - Pretty easy to convert regular Boyz and Rokkit Boyz.  (12 man squads)

4.  Make 15 more Stormboyz - I have 15 built and extra bits to conver some standard boyz.  I want to build up to that awesome Zagstruck formation eventually.

5.  Convert a Big Mek with KFF on a bike - I like bikes a lot. (DONE!)

6.  Make 3 more Bikers (Bought them!) and one Painboy on a bike - Never a bad thing.

7.  Finish Scratch Killa Kanz - I started these way too long ago to forget about them (even though Kanz aren't as good as they used to be).

8.  Build 5 new Battle Wagons (or convert my existing ones) with re-enforced rams and Rokkits.

Painting Goalz

1.  Finish the Gorkanaught - DONE!.

 2.  Prime everything - No Naked Plastic.

3 - 7.  Paint a full 100 boy Green Tide list - I plan on separating my Slugga boyz into 4 distinct squads led by 4 distinct Nobz to help me tell them apart. (2%)

8.  Paint the Stompa - This model looks good already but paint will make it awesome!

There you have it.  Some awesome goals for the upcoming season.  And thanks again to Dave Weston for giving me a little extra inspiration.

  1. I really like the way you've embraced the spirit of the Hobby Season. The list is fluid, it is something that can be bold but also small goals too and there is no shame should you not achieve some or all the targets.

There seems like an awful lot to do so I wish you luck and hopefully there are some quick wins in amongst the mass of Orks. Mostly I hope it helps motivate your hobby and even if you paint loads of things not on your list then that's something to cheer about. All the best.

  2. Good luck with it all, if we can all support each other it might make the job a bit easier.

  3. Thanks for the support. I put a lot on my list to push myself. I will not shed a tear for anything I don't finish but I will cheer everything I do.

    1. We applaud the achievements and forget everything else, with a bit of luck we'll have a year of progress. I've had over a year of continued hobby activity and although there have been times when my mojo was low I don't think I've gone more than a week without doing something. Of course you have to balance home life too and I've not been without a few run ins with the better half but I do feel pleased at just how much I've achieved.
