I have been trying to get a little bit of painting done every night. I am still pretty new at it, but I want to push myself to get better. This is a test from Grimjaw's 'Ard boyz, the first mob in my Green tide list. There will be 29 boyz and Grimjaw himself. One of the boyz will have a big shoota. Enough with the explaining! Lets see some pics!
I tried a bunch of different things on this model. I used Brass Scorpion washed with Nuln Oil the topped with a dry-brush of P3's Pig Iron for the large armor plates. The shirt was Mechanicus Standard Grey and the pants are MaCragge Blue. Followed by a wash of Agrax Earthshade. Scorched brown for the leather and Ushabti Bone for the teef and nails. For the skin, I started with a base of Waagh Flesh followed by a wash of Biel-Tan Green. The next layer was thin Warboss Green and then a layer of Goblin Green. I then dry-brushed with Hellion Green. I used Ryza Rust for the ax and the slugga.
I think it came out looking good. I can't wait to finish a squad of these guys. I have the base coat done on 10 more boyz and Grimjaw himself. Thanks for checking it out. Feel free to offer critiques!
Nice work on the metallics, they look very natural and oxidised. How long did this guy take to finish?
ReplyDeleteThanks! It took about a week, with an hour here, and half-an-hour there. Usually after homework and before bed.
DeleteAgree with Marc. The metallics look fantastic on this guy. Super super orky and spot on!
ReplyDeleteThanks Greg! I keep pushing to try new things.

ReplyDeleteIts a big project! I'm starting with a 12 man squad first (Trukk size) before I move to the full 30. Thanks for checking it out.
